Manuel Mallia flying to Sweden 'Tomorrow'

The party of Gianluca Bezzina's supporters in Sweden will tomorrow increase by one, with home affairs minister Manuel Mallia flying to Sweden to watch the Eurovision Song Contest final.

However, a ministry spokesperson told MaltaToday that the minister will be attending a European Broadcasting Union (EBU) meeting in visit to Sweden which will be discussing the 70th General Assembly which will be held on 27 and 28 June in Malta.

The spokesperson said that since Mallia will be attending the EBU meeting, he will also make it to the Malmo Arena where Malta's representative Gianluca Bezzina will be singing 'Tomorrow' after going through the semi-final stage on Thursday.

A statement issued by the ministry explained that Mallia will be in Sweden to meet Ingrid Deltenre, the EBU's director-general on the Public Broadcasting Service's invitation.

Mallia will be accompanied by the new PBS chairman Tony Portughese amd CEU Anton Attard.

Manuel Mallia's visit to Malmo has turned up to be quite expensive for the Maltese islands. Apart from personnel from PBS, did he take Silvio Scerri tan- NEXOS, with him since he has a personal interest in the Eurovision stage set-up and lighting.
