Labour MP heads sport reform commission

Labour MP Chris Agius has been named as the chairman of the board for the reform of sports in Malta.

The other commission members appointed by Parliamentary Secretary Stefan Buontempo are athlete and deputy Prime Minister Louis Grech aide Alessandra Pace, ONE TV journalist Mario Saliba, Paul Stoner, Anthony Amaira, Martin Sacco and Angiolino Sciberras.

Agius, former Labour spokesperson for sports was elected in the by-election after leader Joseph Muscat vacated his seat on the second district.

The commission has been instructed to explore and advise government on sports and physical education.
