‘Two chairmen’ form part of Maltese delegation to Eurovision
Sunday newspaper reports ‘two chairmen’ were formed part of the Maltese delegation to Malmo, Sweden.
The PBS delegation accompanying Maltese singer Gianluca Bezzina included newly appointed CEO Tonio Portughese and former CEO Joe Mizzi.
According to sources who spoke to Illum, Mizzi tendered in his resignation in the past days, but still travelled to Malmo for the Eurovision Song Contest as part of the delegation.
According to the same sources,
Mizzi's contract terminated yesterday, the same day when the Eurovision was held.
On Friday, current PBS chairman Tonio Portughese made arrangements to fly out to the Eurovision together with Minister Manuel Mallia, responsible of PBS, who also met representatives of the European Broadcasting Union in preparation for the EBU's annual general meeting to be held in Malta next month.
It is still unknown as to who paid for the flights and accommodation of both chairmen.
