The PBS delegation accompanying Maltese singer Gianluca Bezzina included newly appointed CEO Tonio Portughese and former CEO Joe Mizzi.

According to sources who spoke to Illum, Mizzi tendered in his resignation in the past days, but still travelled to Malmo for the Eurovision Song Contest as part of the delegation.

According to the same sources,

Mizzi's contract terminated yesterday, the same day when the Eurovision was held.

On Friday, current PBS chairman Tonio Portughese made arrangements to fly out to the Eurovision together with Minister Manuel Mallia, responsible of PBS, who also met representatives of the European Broadcasting Union in preparation for the EBU's annual general meeting to be held in Malta next month.

It is still unknown as to who paid for the flights and accommodation of both chairmen.

What a joke! The world is burning, people are starving and my Good Lord we are living in La La land of milk and honey. Just this week I received a video of a Syrian rebel soldier eating the heart of a dead Syrian among other brutality available for the world to be aware what is happening. Are we living in the same world?

Who the heck do you think paid for this nonsense, Mr Editor? You and I did. But hey, it was all worth it: we're back in the top ten of the kitchy competition. Malta has shown it exists, and we can all walk with pride.

You hear about stories of money wasting like these every day but it seems no one is doing anything to stop these excesses. The blue eyed boys seem to continue to enjoy free rides without no administrator stopping them! Where are the heads of departments who should be controlling these expenses?

The GonziPN attitude was "money- no problem". It appears that MuscatPL has adopted the same mentality. Tough luck on the taxpayers.
