Zammit Dimech to head commission for the review of PN statute
PN leader instructs commission to hand in draft statute by 31 July.
Former minister Francis Zammit Dimech is to head the Commission for the revision of the PN statute and structures.
The commission, set up on the instructions of PN leader Simon Busuttil, is to make a revision of the statute and structures of the Nationalist Party and hand in a draft copy of the updated statute by not later than 31 July.
"This is the first step among several measures which the party will be taking to reorganise our party. The revision of the statute and the structures will be the platform by which the PN once again become the people's party," the PN leader said.
The commission is to make recommendations on how the structures and the statute should be updated to make the party more open, inclusive, organised and closer to the people.
Commission members include Francis Zammit Dimech, Therese Comodini Cachia, John Bonello, Valentina Cassar, Christabelle Ebejer, Angelo Micallef, Gejtu Vella, Kevin Cutajar, David Zahra, Noel Galea and Josianne Cardona Gatt.
The PN explained that the commission will have free access to required information and the right to meet and consult with officials, councilors, members, party activists and other individuals. The party will be supporting the commission with all the necessary means and resources.
