Binge drinking on the rise
Teenage alcohol consumption rises as drinking culture spreads among the younger generations.

As globalisation and the advent of social media have made the world smaller, the younger generations in Malta are heavily influenced by American and British television shows which promote a 'life is too short' mentality.
The drinking culture is infiltrating in Maltese society, with more and more young persons binge drinking on weekends in the many outlets across the country.
Mater Dei statistics published by Sunday newspaper Illum show that alcohol consumption is on the rise in all age groups, especially in the 15-24 group.

I guess the kids of today have no respect for themselves, or the value of money wasted on trying to destroy their kidneys. The bar owners must be rubbing their hands with glee with the extra profits, when the customers are so pissed that they can't tell when their booze has been watered down.
