Man rescued from sea

At around 7:15a.m. the Police were informed that a young man fell in the sea at Dwejra whilst he was fishing from shore. Police officers rushed on site and requested the assistance of rescue personnel as the fisherman was in difficulty.

Members of the Civil Protection brought the man to shore to an awaiting ambulance which took him to the Gozo General Hospital.

Although the man suffered serious injuries, he is not in danger of loss of life.

Police investigations are ongoing.
