PN leader, deputy leaders hold first official meeting
First official meeting between leader Simon Busuttil, deputy leaders Mario de Marco and Beppe Fenech Adami and outgoing secretary general Paul Borg Olivier held today.
Leader Simon Busuttil and deputy leaders Mario de Marco and Beppe Fenech Adami held their first official meeting at the party's headquarters earlier today. Present for the meeting were outgoing secretary general Paul Borg Olivier and president of the administrative council Karol Aquilina.
Elections for the post of secretary general will be held on 5 June. Borg Olivier will not seek re-election while MP Chris Said has confirmed he will be running for the post. He is the first one to file the nomination.
Opposition whip David Agius has unofficially expressed his intention to run for the post.
Busuttil also confirmed that a report commissioned to analyse the PN electoral defeat during the 9 Marche elections will be presented during a general council to be held next week.
The PN leader added that the party must hit the ground running. His challenge is to see the PN electing three seats during the MEP elections next year. Currently, there are two PN MEPs and four Labour MEPs.
