Updated | Man looses hand in warehouse incident

A 58-year-old man was rushed to hospital after his hand was caught in a granulating machine.

A 58-year-old man from Imsida lost part of his left hand when out working on a granulating machine in a scrap warehouse at the Kirkop industrial Estate.

At around 11.30am this morning the police were informed that an incident had happened in a factory warehouse at Kirkop.

The victim was rushed to hospital by ambulance were it resulted that he suffered grievous injuries but is not in danger of loss of life.

Duty Magistrate Audrey Demicoli held an onsite inquiry. Officers from the Health and Safety Authority called on site to inspect the amchinery.
