Lifeguarding service at Blue Lagoon starts today

Lifeguards of the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps will commence their duties at the Blue Lagoon, Comino as from today.

The lifeguarding service will run on a daily basis from 9.30am till 6.00pm, till the end of September.

The Corps' hydro ambulance, Lifesaver 1, will be deployed in Comino for all the duration of the lifeguarding service. Last year, Lifesaver 1 was useful in the transportation of casualties from Comino to Mgarr or Cirkewwa, so patients could then be transported to the hospital.

The service is possible due to financial support from the Malta Tourist Authority. Support is also being provided by the Ministry for Gozo, Transport Malta, Police, Armed Forces of Malta, Police and the Civil Protection Department.
