Prime Minister Joseph Muscat this evening met former European Commissioner John Dalli at his office at Castille to discuss the possibility of Dalli offering his help and services to it the government.

Addressing journalists following the 20-minute meeting, Muscat said the two discussed how Dalli could contribute his services to the country, but refrained from delving into detail.

"I don't think it would be prudent at this stage to comment further," the Prime Minister said.

Asked whether Dalli would serve an executive role or wether he would be taken on as a consultant, Muscat said Dalli's experience and knowledge would be "wasted" if government were not to make full use of his abilities.

The meeting took place on the initiative of the Prime Minister. Questioned by the press, Dalli denied that he had met the Nationalist Party and said he received no such request.

John Dalli's words still echoes from the past _ do not expect the health service to be completely free !!

At this stage of the truth becoming clearer and clearer, both Barroso and Kessler should resign while Dalli is reinstated as commissioner. They hurt Malta by trying to humiliate a valid Maltese man. An apology is expected from the two 'gentlemen' above.

Undoubtedly John Dalli is a politician of enormous experience, both on the local and the EU scene. Also undoubtedly a professional that commands respect. What bothers me is the Mid-Med swindle he masterminded, his 1992 interpretation of the terms governing 1979 national pension law and his novel description of the use people were making of several polyclinics which he eventually closed down - among others of course! But I guess it's up to the Prime Minister to decide and I think the decision would be both professionally and politically.

I don't understand all this fawning over Dalli by the PL. First of all Malta saw its biggest expansion in National Debt under his watch as Finance Minister. Secondly he was the architect of the draconian fines and penalties which violated human rights.

Dalli is still a very valid politician. The factthat PN dumped is just anither example how PN used us and dumped us. PN critisies that Muscat is not keeping his promises of Meritocracy andMalta tgnana ilkoll and everytime he appoints a Pn person than nationalists critises Muscat as well and even more. Still PN has not learned its lesson and they are doomed in apposostion for at least 10 years

The enemy of my enemy is my friend! It is becoming clearer every day that politicians have no principles and are simply opportunists. Disgusted.

Malta's Got Talent A definite yes to Mr John Dalli. Apart from everything else Mr John Dalli respected those who were who were Labour supporters like myself, when I was working in one of his departments. He listened and took action. Whent here was a complain against me he had the balls to call me personally to seewhat the problem was and althought the lady who went to report me was a Nationalist diehard, he didn't blame me to please her. I wish you Mr Dalli all the best and hope that one day those who framed you, will have their punishment either in this or the next world. Justice should be there for one and ALL, no matter how BIG his head is.

They met at the Prime Minister's Office. U mela taht xi Pont. Jiena lis-Sur Dalli ma tantx jinzilli, PERO li hu ragel b'esperjenza KBIRA, ma nichadx.

It's a pity that Malta and Europe have been denied the services of Mr Dalli for so long... And why? Perhaps mediocrity in others that prompted them to try and destroy ability in John.

Maturita politika fl-aqwa taghha. Fl-ahhar mill-ahhar qed wieghed Muscat qabel l-elezzjoni. Issa nistennew l-entertainment ta' Simon. Min jaf biex se johrog...min jaf.

Proset,Dalli is an asset to everybody. The PN lost another heavyweight.

Hadniulkom ukoll.

Of course Mr. Dalli can be of service to the country he can contribute a lot so that the present administration can eliminate the rot that was present under the previous administration , and some high rankers can be made accountable for her/his actions

Prosit John. You are an asset to our country. Pity the PN dismissed you. You would have made a better leader than Gonzi and the country would not have been in such a deficit mess it is today with over 5 billion Euros debts.

Mr John Dalli should not be left doing nothing!
