Corradino prisoners end hunger strike

Foreign inmates at the Corradino Correctional Facility have ended their hunger strike, started yesterday morning.

The initial group was of 18 foreign prisoners, five of which ended their strike earlier today.

Informed sources told MaltaToday that all prisoners have ended their strike and had their dinner this evening.

The striking prisoners were complaining of facing discrimination. According to the Ministry for Home Affairs, the prisoners were requesting an amnesty which was more than 100 days. Others, it said, also requested to continue residing in Malta once their prison term was up.
