PN accuses government of 'deceit' on animal hospital

Government accused of deciet over its handling of the Ta Qali animal hospital.

The government is trying to stifle the work being carried out at the San Frangisk animal hospital, the Opposition said.

"While claiming to be a 'Business Friendly Government' and commissioning a study to find out what the public's complaints were, the government goes and files a judicial protest in court against the hospital's operator," the PN said.

This confirms the government's "deceit" because while hiding behind calls for cheaper services at the hospital, it now has a confirmation in writing that the centre's prices are similar to the private sector, the PN said.

The Opposition also claimed that the government had "an ulterior motive and it would be good for the government to say with whom it has met and negotiated for the running of the centre."

@accountability. The PL is simply trying to put in a red vet in this operation now that Dr Zammit has went thru the pioneer work to make it run. Mr Galdes is using the effective tactic of tarnishing an enviable reputation and finding legal loopholes to terminate this contract. Disgusting is how this government treads on anybody it finds in its path to line every committee, entity or enterprise with cronies from its own party. What's so sagrosant about that? Use your maths to find out what the 'red' appointees are earning after the ongoing bulldover reshuffle is over.

Who is stifling who? Dr Zammit tried to stifle the survey that the Government wanted to make, and will make, on the operations of the San Frangist animal hospital. The PN is trying to stifle the Government from making such a survey and protect Dr Zammit. If the Government paid for the setting up of the Centre why did the Nationalist Government, which we all now know was embroiled in corruption, allow Dr Zammit to charge market prices. So we paid for the installation and equipment at the centre and then hand it on a plate to be run commercially. It is disgusting. It is the people's money that was and is involved and the people have a sagrosant right to know where and how their money was and is being spent.
