A dead cow was recovered from sea following an operation which involved the Armed Forces of Malta and transport ministry employees.

The dead cow was recovered yesterday in Delimara, the ministry said. Members of the ministry's Cleansing & Maintenance Department assisted the AFM in its two-day search mission.

The AFM was informed of a large floating object at sea and after spotting the dead cow in Delimara the carcass was brought to shore aboard an army dinghy.

The cow which was apparently dead for a few days was then transported to the incinerator.

That's interesting, as I was out boating a couple of years ago and we too came across a dead cow floating just off the northern coast of Malta (circa opposite St Andrews). It just looked like a large brown float or something from afar but as we got closer it became clear it was bovine. Which begs the question... how come there are so many cows in the waters around Malta? Two is a lot given that we havent had any tzunamis lately, have we? Where are these poor creatures coming from? Why are they being dumped out to sea? Was it illness that did it, and is the reason someone is doing so because they dont want to have to deal with the health issues (both for the cows themselves and potentially for humans)? I for one find this most suspicious.
