Ten-year-old girl dies in hospital after a traffic accident on 4 July 2010
A 10-year-old girl died late yesterday evening at Mater Dei Hospital after she was involved in a traffic accident at around 9.45pm at Hal Far on 4 July 2010, the police announced this morning.
During this traffic accident, a collision between a Hyundai Accent vehicle driven by a 23-year-old Zurrieq man and a Maruti Gypsy vehicle driven by a 45-year-old Kalkara man. It was on board the Maruti Gypsy that the 10-year-old girl had been riding.
The two drivers had only suffered slight injuries, but the girl had immediately been certified on the danger list as soon as she was examined by doctors at Mater Dei Hospital.
The inquiring magistrate on this case, Jacqueline Padovani-Grima, was informed about the death of the young girl.
Meanwhile the condition of the young girl who had been hit by a vehicle together with her grandma at Ghadira Road, Mellieha on 29 July 2010has improved and she was not being kept at the ITU anymore, the police said.
