@jgbusuttil, I don't want to sound like i am supporting smoking, but I think the smoker pays enough taxes on cigarettes to cover the medical costs. So rest assured you are not paying for there mistakes.

I find it sadly ironic that we can determine and establish how many deaths are declared as attributable to tobacco-related products ,yet we can never advise how any deaths or serious injuries on our roads are attributable to DUI instances or as a direct result of excessive speed being a contributing factor! In fact, we never hear of the root cause and/or reason as to why such road traffic incident deaths or injuries occur. Why is that?

Everyone knows that smoking is not very good for you. It costs lives and it causes illness that need to be paid by the tax payer, which I believe is very unfair. If addicts of anything need to carry on with their destructive lifestyle, I should not be forced to support them with my tax contribution. Of course, people who are addicted to highly addictive legal mind-altering drugs, prescribed by psychiatrist need to be exempt. This is because that is all psychiatrists are taught to do, directly and indirectly by the pharmaceutical industry who make huge profits on them. Psychiatrist/psychologists are trained to help illegal drug addicts kick their habit but not legal drug addicts, even when the symptoms of their problems are corrected. What a scam!
