Government warns against travel to Benghazi

The Maltese government has warned Maltese travellers against traveling to Libya.

In a statement, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs advised that travel to Benghazi should be limited to essential, business-related travel only.

"All Maltese in Libya should exercise caution and in case of difficulty they should contact the Maltese Embassy in Tripoli or the Consulate in Benghazi," the ministry said.
