Chairman of FMA contesting for the Vice-President post with MFA

Illum interviews current chairman of Futsal Malta Association and the mind behind the reform in local futsal in the last years.

Donald Spiteri who holds the current post as the President of Futsal Malta Association (FMA) spoke to Illum regarding the reform in futsal and the high level of futsal locally compared to other countries. He speaks about the idea of the association and its relation with MFA. Spiteri speaks about the Maltese national futsal team coached by Kevin Mifsud and its success due to the professionalism which he says was never present before.

After serving for several years in MFA, Spiteri speaks about the need of "experienced new blood" as a Vice-President of the Malta Football Association. "I waited another three years to gain more experience" says Spiteri and explains this time as the right time for contestation including the changes needed to be done in the MFA if he is elected as Vice-President.

The fact that Futsal has become quite popular is NOT to Donald Spiter's merit, it is due to the organisation of the club officials. MFA deserve better nominations especially now when a marked improvement was registered under the guidance of Mr Darmanin Demajo.
