Over €450k raised in Dar tal-Providenza marathon

A total of €457,312 was raised during a volleyball marathon organised in aid of Dar tal-Providenza over the weekend.

The event, which lasted 54 hours and comprised 40 players, is the fifth edition of this marathon, which also includes entertainment from singers and dancers.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Opposition leader Simon Busuttil both visited the marathon last Saturday morning.

Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, was founded by Mgr Mikiel Azzopardi in 1965 to provide accommodation to people with special needs. It currently accommodates 99 residents.
