[WATCH] 212 migrants brought to Malta
84 third country nationals were the first to make their way to Malta, on board the Armed Forces of Malta's inshore patrol vessel P24.
A total of 212 migrants will be brought to Malta this evening, with the three boats expected to arrive between 9pm and 10.30pm, the Armed Forces of Malta said.
Meanwhile, 84 migrants have been transferred on board the AFM's inshore patrol vessel P24 and are currently on their way to Malta.
One of the migrant vessels was 38 nautical miles and originally the total number of migrants that were on this boat was 89 with five females being previously airlifted by helicopter. The remaining group is made up of 15 females and 69 males.
A second boat, spotted at 33 nautical miles south east of Malta, was carrying 40 migrants. The AFM carried a rescue operation as their dinghy was adrift. The group is made up of 39 males and a female.
The third boat, with 74 males and nine females, was intercepted south west of Malta.
