Government approves extension of Muslim school

Extension of Muslim school Mariam al Batool approved last week.

Last week, the Malta Environment and Planning Authority approved the extension of Mariam al Batool, the Muslim school in Rahal Gdid. Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said this was another promise which the government fulfilled during its first months in power.

Addressing representatives of the community at the Labour Headquarters in Hamrun, Muscat reiterated the Labour government was committed in aiding the Muslim community in Malta.

Muscat said the government will continue helping the community, even through the setting up of the Citizenship and Visas Agency.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the importance of integration of minority communities in Malta while reiterating the government would not permit racism and xenophobia.

He insisted the country should be open to everyone where the Muslim community is treated in the same way as the Maltese.

Payback time! It was the imam himself who said that the muslim community had voted labour. Anyone who helped labour get elected has been rewarded by jobs, some of them tailor made for the individual, promotions and transfers to better jobs. Malta is really taghhom lkoll!

@ always hoping as you say this already happened ... and if it had to happen again, then most of us would do the same thing again: if you can't beat them, join them.

I am not against Muslims be free to profess thier faith here as long as they do not disturb other, BUT on one important condition. They should allow us the same freedom in their respective countries. Here is where the EU is weak. While we while we give all freedoms to Muslims in the EU, they do not reciprocate. The EU must bargain this receprocity with the Muslim states. Come on EU lets do it.

I concur with he thoughts of "always hoping". We are giving way to the Muslims, are they themselves prepared to accept the fact that there are many "non-believers" in their adopted country? If they simply CANNOT accept this criteria, then maybe the potential religious extremists should be shipped to Saudi where they will feel more at home.

Not only schools, you are also boosting mosques in private garages scattered all over the island, with the MEPA blessings ! Joseph, one day you will be remembered for this, when it is too late ! Yes, I am against Muslims, simply because we offer our hospitality and respect, but do they reciprocate , or better reciprocate with what ?

As an atheist I agree to all that Joseph had to say. What worry me is Muslin have it to go to war against non believers. How can you stop them from doing what they did to us in the past when they were in the majority?

soon it will be the Maltese in the Minority.
