Simon Busuttil meets PN candidates for European elections
Busuttil - Candidates offer a good mix of age, competences, backgrounds and qualities.
PN and Opposition Leader Dr Simon Busuttil today welcomed the eight new candidates for the European Parliament elections to be held next year, during a courtesy visit held in Busuttil's office at the PN Headquarters.
Busuttil introduced incumbents David Casa, Roberta Metsola - who was not present due to family related commitments - and new candidates Stefano Mallia, Helga Ellul, Kevin Plumpton, Kevin Cutajar, Therese Comodini Cachia and Jonathan Shaw.
"For the first time these candidates were chosen by a specific commission, headed by former EU Commissioner Joe Borg. The aim of the commission was to give all prospective candidates the opportunity to put their name forward for the service of the party. The final selection was recommended by the commission and approved by the PN executive council," Busuttil said.
Busuttil said that the candidates offer a good mix of age, competences, backgrounds and qualities, and have been put forward this early in order to give them time to work on their campaigns and provide ample time for the public to get to know them, what they stand for and represent.
