Concert in aid of children suffering from brain complications

The experience of the young parents of premature twins leads to creation of organisation in aid of children suffering from brain complications and their parents.

Speaking to Sunday newspaperr Illum Roderick Cachia recounted his personal experience which led to the creation of  the Organisation "Qalb it-Tfal" which is organising a concert called "Sounds of Innocence" on 8 of August in Birzebbugia.

Admission to the concert will be free of charge however the aim is to raise the funds required to purchase the Natus "CoolCap" through the donations collected during the concert which will be donated to the Neonatal Paediatric Intensive Care Unite (NPICU) at Mater Dei Hospital.

The cooling cap, which costs between €15,000 to €20,000 is required to treat newborn babies who are born with brain asphyxia or who have been deprived of oxygen. The cooling cap system helps to restore the brain's normal function and provides a unique system to supply selective brain cooling, while maintaining core temperature at safe levels through use of radiant warmer.

Whoever cannot attend the event can send a donation on the BOV account 40021697203.
