Student organisation welcomes Gozo Channel subsidies

Gozo students organisation says this would facilitate the transition for Gozitan students while studying in Malta.

Gozo Students Organisation (GUG) welcomed the new Gozo Channel subsidy for Gozitans studying in Malta.

In a press statement, the organisation said such subsidy would continue facilitating the transition for Gozitan students when studying in Malta.

“The fact that such subsidy applies also to Maltese students taking a course at the Gozo Campus is a first step in developing the potential of this campus. Hopefully, this would eliminate the stereotype that further education can only be undertaken in Malta,” they said.

GUG praised the Ministry of Gozo for strengthening its support to Gozitan students and for implementing proposals that the organisation has been advocating for the past months.

On Tuesday, the Gozo Ministry announced that unemployed Gozitan students following courses in Malta will get a subsidy on the Gozo Channel fare.
