By the end of next month, 80% of the Bormla dock one project will be ready, Infrastructure Minister Joe Mizzi said this morning.

Nonetheless, the whole project is to be accomplished in twelve months' time.

In the process, it is likely that Malta will lose some EU funds related to the project, but the Minister said the loss would be much less since current works are making up for the huge delays under previous PN administrations.

Joe Mizzi highlighted the fact that road works scheduled to be ready by the end of September were finished in the past days.

The next phase of the project includes ‘finishing’ works on the belvedere, a bridge between Senglea and Cospicua, and maintenance works on Gavino Gulia square.

The works will be phased out in order to avoid as much as possible closures of roads.

Minister Mizzi assured the residents that paving works in Gavino Gulia Square should be ready by the next feast of the Immaculate Conception.

Honorable Joe Mizzi's efficiency is greatly appreciated and his stamina is commendable. Still the Bormlizi would be so grateful if he can put to task the architects responsible for the project to review and improve the projects artistic aspect. The street bollards at Bormla are an eyesore, cheap and horrible like something out of Auschwitz. The concrete block benches are not only impractical to sit on but simply "koroh dawgha". We are sure that Joe can deliver something much better. He cares.
