Redundancy of part-timers at PN printing press made official

All part-time workers at Media.Link Communications formally informed they will be sacked.

All part-time employees employed with Media.Link Communications will be made redundant over the next weeks, a letter sent to all part-timers has confirmed.

The letter, sent two days before the Santa Marija feast, informed the part-timers to expect a termination letter from ETC.

"We would like to stress upon the point that this has nothing to do with the quality of services given but is all part of the restructuring process," the letter informs the workers made redundant.

The PN communications company will also be adopting a new strategy in terms of payments made to its contributors. The new system includes the introduction of invoices or bills for services given, instead of the payroll system which the company had adopted over the years.

The lay-offs were also reassured that any pending due rights up to the termination date will be settled over the coming weeks.

According to sources close to the Stamperija, the newsroom will be retaining one or two part-timers to replace the full-timers when these would be on leave.
