Septuagenarian assisted by lifeguards in Gozo

A 74-year-old woman was yesterday assisted by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps lifeguards in Marsalforn.

A 74-year-old woman was rescued by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps (ERRC) after suffering breathing problems after a swim.

The incident happened yesterday at Marsalforn, Gozo and the woman was then taken to the Gozo General Hospital for treatment.

The Gozo ministry announced that in the coming days a number of flag poles would be erected in various beaches, including information boards and ring buoys.

The ministry said that it was financing the lifeguard service and other initiatives to ensure that beaches in Gozo are safer.
