‘I was never a PN supporter’ – Manuel Micallef
Former GWU deputy secretary says that whether in Labour’s ranks or not, he always speaks his mind.
Manuel Micallef, former GWU deputy secretary and currently ONE TV head of news, insists he was always a Labour supporter even though he “always kept an open mind.”
After falling out with Tony Zarb and the GWU in 2005, Micallef participated in several discussions and programmes on NET TV.
And now, he still intends to do the same if he’s invited.
Sharing his thoughts with sister newspaper ‘Illum’, he now plans to bring his “liberal thinking” to ONE news, criticising the Labour government if the need arises.
During the interview he also speaks about his past within the GWU and the campaign mounted against him to oust him from the union.
