PN to open café at Pieta headquarters
Nationalist Party issues call for proposals for running of café at headquarters in Pieta.
Nationalist Party supporters will soon be able to have a latte and a cup cake at the party headquarters in Pieta, if the party's plans go through.
In Sunday's issue of the PN newspaper il-Mument, the PN published a call for proposals for the day-to-day running of a coffee shop.
Whoever said and thought that former PN treasurer Peter Darmanin's proposal to open a restaurant at the party's HQ was a tad extravagant will have to eat their words, for although the restaurant has been downgraded to a cafeteria, the outlet is set to open in the near future.
The call for proposals explains that the contract being offered will be for a five-year period and interested parties should have at least three years experience in the catering industry.
Moreover, bidders should have a good track record and experience in setting up and promoting similar ventures.
The proposal document may be collected from the PN headquarters between today and 25 September against a fee of 50 euros.
The café could be seen as innovative way of raising some funds which the party desperately needs to make good for the massive debts the PN has. However, turning the headquarters, affectionately known as the Stamperija by the party faithful, is questionable as such a venture would mostly attract party diehards and possibly become a loftier version of the clubs the PN has in most towns and villages.
