PN 'satisfied' with agreement reached between Malta and Libya
Opposition hopes oil products agreement with Libya will prove to be advantageous to consumers.
The Nationalist Party has welcomed the memorandum of understanding signed between Malta and Libya which offer advantageous rates to Malta in oil procurement from Libya.
"We hope this agreement translates in beneficial prices for consumers," the PN said.
The Opposition said there was "no doubt" that the strong relationship which the two countries enjoyed derived from support the Maltese government gave during the Libyan uprising as the citizens fought for freedom and democracy during 2011.
"The support Malta gave served as a good foundation for the strengthening of the relationships," it said.
The PN said Malta should continue developing its role as "a strategic bridge" between the North Africa countries and the European Union.
"This was the main message which the Maltese government pushed for during the 5 plus 5 summit organised in Malta last year," the Opposition insisted.
