Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has invited Ukraine to set up a centre for the maintenance of Antonov planes, aircraft engines and helicopters.
He said this at a meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, Ukrinform reported.
"We would like to propose that Ukraine set up a center for the maintenance of An planes, aircraft engines and helicopters," Muscat said.
He also stressed that this center will be a useful and convenient from the logistic point of view, for several thousand Ukrainian aircraft of the Antonov family, airplanes and helicopters with Ukrainian engines operate in North Africa.
In turn, Azarov promised to consider such a proposal. "Malta has an advantageous location, and here it would be possible to set up a center for the repair and maintenance of our engines and aircraft. We will review this proposal," the head of the Ukrainian government noted.
