Splash and Fun Park denies E Coli bacteria was found in its waters • Health Ministry orders investigation.

The Ministry for Health has ordered an investigation into allegations that water at Splash and Fun Park in Bahar ic-Caghaq was found to be contaminated with the escherica coli (E Coli) bacteria.

Splash and Fun Park has denied these media reports insisting no such danger existed.

In a statement, the ministry said the Superintendent for Public Health will be conducting the investigation.

Labour organ Kulhadd yesterday reported that officials from the Environmental Health Directorate visited the complex several times over August and September and five tests proved positive to E.coli presence in the pools.

Posting test results referring to July, Splash and Fun said it "guaranteed that the water at the complex is safe and complies with all regulations from local health authorities."

"We ensure that the water quality in all of our pools is of a satisfactory and high standard. The source of all water is reliable and controlled so as to ensure quality and standards," the park's management said on Facebook.

It also published various sets of reports from their own consultants and external laboratory who have certified the water quality of the pools in the complex during this summer.

"The public is invited to contact our offices through our telephone numbers provided on our website or through our Facebook page. We will be more than happy to provide all requested the information," it added.

@Parlapiupiano - note the word "Allegations" used liberally in the article - note as well that this is a article repeating an article originally published in Kulhadd (and no one else) - put two and two together in this case. God forbid its true, but then again, the levels of e Coli were not published by the "government inspectors", and why is this story coming to light now. There is an agenda somewhere but I am sure the authorities are indeed watching out for our welfare. Why however is Kulhadd setting the government to conduct a task?

Is this seriously true? E.coli found in the water and the complex STILL OPERATIONAL. This should be immediately closed and all necessary action taken. Please bear in mind that there is a Maltese shanty town of the Rio de Janeiro favelas style just next door. We take our kids and children there, if we are not protected by the authorities nobody can do since the complex owners only see money.

Sounds like now that Kulhadd has resolved their Arriva issues - Splash and Fun is the next target. What's the next target after this one? Funny how other news organs didn't pick up on this story (only one) - well now two lol.

There is not much one can say about such matters and if the case has been going on since July than is int it a little to late now that the season is nearly over? If this is the case why is the place still running? Are we now playing with Public health?

If the Environmental Health Directorate visited the complex several times over August and September and five tests proved positive to E.coli presence in the pools, why didn't they take immediate action to close down the premises? Who was responsible for such investigations?
