No water contamination at Splash and Fun, management says

Management insists that there is no waster contamination at Splash and Fun park.

Splash and Fun Park denied that the water in the pools was contaminated and insisted that a chemical and microbiological analysis report issued by the Public Health Department yesterday clearly showed there was no health risk.

The park's management categorically denied a report by the General Workers Union newspaper Kullhadd, which it said was "totally unfounded and incorrect."

The park noted that the report alleged that the water in the pools at Splash and Fun Water Park in Bahar ic- Caghaq, was contaminated and other news media quoted the said report and other sources, "spreading the injurious allegations."

"The Management of Splash and Fun Water park would like to understand where Kullhadd obtained the information and how the editor could have published such damaging allegations without either contacting the Park for a comment or verifying the reliability of the information. This is irresponsible journalism, which is damaging to the Park's image and reputation and creates widespread alarm among the public on health issues which are non-existent, casting serious doubt about the credibility and ethic of the editor and publisher of the Kullhadd news paper," the statement said.

Splash and Fun added that in addition to the routine tests to monitor water quality conducted regularly by the Water Park management, a chemical and microbiological analysis report issued by the Public Health Department and in the possession of the management, clearly shows that there is no contamination whatsoever in any of the park's pools.

"The water quality complies fully with the highest standards and meets or exceeds local health authority regulations. The test results again confirm that there is absolutely no evidence of any trace of contamination of any nature. None of the tests conducted previously over the past months at any time indicate any such health issues of contamination in any of the Park's pools."

The park operator is under legal obligation, according to local health regulations, to take multiple daily readings to monitor and keep records of readings of the water quality, which must be made available to the competent authority on request at any time, the statement added.

"This procedure is carried out rigorously every single day. Furthermore, the Park management states that the sources of all water used in the Park are reliable and controlled so as to ensure the best water quality at all times. Since the lifeblood of any water park is in fact water, it is in the Park's own interest and their daily priority to ensure that their water is clean, free of contamination and kept in optimal condition at all times."

The most recent test results were also published on the park's facebook page showing reports of tests carried out by independent water quality consultants Assure.

"It is also relevant to note that the Health Department carried out their annual audit of all the Park's water systems in August this year, as part of the mandatory checks stipulated under the terms of the operator's licence."
