Crane nearly topples and injures worker

An industrial accident took place at the St Theresa College Boys' Secondary in Birkirkara, earlier Wednesday morning at 9:45am.

While workers were installing a safety net around the new turf pitch, a construction crane gave way and leaned over to one side. A worker was injured and an ambulance was calle on to the site. 

The worker, who suffered light injuries, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital and he was released earlier this afternoon. At no point were students or school personnel in any danger as this area was out of bounds throughout the day.
