Aviation agreement signed between Malta, Kuwait

A bilateral agreement in aviation was signed between Malta and Kuwait today in New York. The agreement was signed after a meeting held between Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his Kuwaiti counterpart Jaber Al Mubarak Al Hamad Al Sabah on the fringes of the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The agreement was signed by foreign affairs minister George Vella and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sabah Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah. The bilateral meeting focused on aviation with Muscat highlighting the success enjoyed by the aviation companies operating in Malta. The signing of the agreement marks months of discussions and establishes regular flights between Malta and Kuwait, increasing passenger movement and attracting investment.
In a statement, the government said the agreement provides for services, such as scheduling and capacity, to facilitate flights between the two countries. It applies for all airlines, including Air Malta, Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways Company.
