Serbian succumbs to injuries after two-storey fall

A 31-year old Serbian national who was certified in critical condition after a fall of two storeys in a construction site, passed away this morning.
The incident took place in Ibraġġ road, Ibraġġ on 3rd October shortly after 1pm.
The police are still investigating the case.

Whilst any death is saddening this one raises more questions than answers .Whilst the police are investigating any possible ciminality in this sad fatality presumably( as we neve hear any public announcements from this authority(sic) into such incidents)) the OHSA should have concluded their "investigations " into this workplace fatality which occurred 12 days ago as into how or why it occurred -but when will the public be privy to such conclusions?Furthermore,it was originally reported in the press that the deceased ws merely "visiting friends " at the site in question yet he has now been declared as a "construction worker " at the site !Which is it and was he working there legally?

It has become the practice that when such sad accidents happen the person/s responsible for the buildig site say that he went there to meet some friends, but in reality they had been employign the person illegally on the black economy. Time for the government to clamp down on this black economy which is undermining Maltese workers and all permits for those who are not from EU countries revoked.
