Malta and Israel dicuss co-operation in the energy sector
The Prime Minister Joseph Muscat met with the Israeli Minister of Energy and Water, Silvan Shalom, prior to a Business Forum held by Malta Enterprise
Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that Malta and Israel share a number of similarities as both countries look beyond natural resources in order to create economic growth.
Muscat said that energy and water conservation projects were discussed, with particular reference given to water recycling and other water technologies.
Muscat said that the Minister for Energy, Konrad Mizzi, is expected to visit Israel next week to hold talks with Israel Minister Silvan Shalom and discuss further the cooperation with Israel relating to energy and water projects.
Talking about trade between Israel and Malta, the Israeli Minister of Energy and Water, Silvan Shalom, said that the visit of Joseph Muscat will take cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
"We want to increase the mutual trade between countries and we want to have better relations with Malta in order to bring progress and share ideas for innovation in both countries," he said.
