PBS news editor Reno Bugeja rebuffed PN’s claims of unfair reporting last Sunday, saying the party did not inform him that Simon Busuttil was going to intervene through a telephone link on Radio 101.

Bugeja also highlighted that the party did not cover what its leader said through a press release, as was usually done after such events.

The Nationalist Party lamented that the PBS did not report neither Busuttil’s statements on Radio 101, nor another political activity addressed by PN Secretary General Chris Said, held last Sunday as well.

“The PN is aware that in practice, we only cover the leaders’ activities or the acting leaders in their absence. This measure also applies to the Labour Party,” Bugeja said in a letter sent to David Herrera, PN’s communications coordinator.

Bugeja remarked that the fact that Chris Said was interviewed by a PBS journalist did not affect their guidelines.

Reno, take this belly-aching with a light pinch of salt. The PN is trying to create "issues" where these do not exist under the pretence of "doing their work" as an Opposition Party. Since the demise of the GonziPN clique, programmes and news services of PBS have been totally transformed and now at least one can listen to a news bulletin without rushing to the nearest toilet to puke.
