PN recommends the setting up of a new office on Environment
The Nationalist Party encourages the government to put climate change as one of its priorities.
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Malta’s proposal to the United Nations about climate change, the Nationalist Party encouraged the government to put climate change as one of its priorities, both domestically and on the international agenda.
In a press statement, PN spokesperson Charlo Bonnici said Malta should strengthen the office of the Ambassador for Climate Change and extend his responsibilities to be more effective.
“The government should also consider the introduction of an office on environmental negotiations, which would go beyond the environment desk in the Foreign Affairs Ministry,” Charlo Bonnici said.
Recalling Malta’s proposal about climate protection in 1988, the Nationalist Party paid tribute to Professor David Vassallo, former ambassador Michael Zammit Cutajar, current ambassador Simone Borg and numerous Ministers of various past administrations.
