Valletta parking scheme revised
Motorists can now enter Valletta for free after 2pm on weekdays and all weekend.
The budget measure allowing motorists to park for free in Valletta after 2pm and all day on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays came in force today.
The government said the measure will act as a catalyst for the capital's business community by encouraging people to enter Valletta.
The measure allows motorists to park their vehicles in the Controlled Vehicular Access zones for free after 2pm on weekdays and all day on weekends and public holidays.
The government also insisted that the current CVA system had failed and was not financially viable for both shop owners and Transport Malta.
It reiterated its intention to explore the possibility of creating more parking spaces in Valletta together with the private sector.
