IT consultant paid €17,807 since June
IT consultant engaged by the Health Ministry has received a total of €17,807 since 16 June.
IT consultant Mark Sammut has been paid a total of €17,807 since 16 June 2013, a parliamentary question tabled in parliament has revealed.
The question on Sammut's salary was raised by Nationalist MP Chris Said.
According to the information, Sammut was appointed as consultant by the Ministry for Health with a basic salary of €2,359. His contract also allows for an expense allowance, an expertise allowance, mobile phone and car allowances and bonus.
From the information tabled, it transpires that the expertise allowance amounts to €769, although in June this allowance amounted to €1,359.
Sammut was engaged by the ministry to devise a new patient administration system for Mater Dei Hospital and acts as the eHealth advisor to the minister.

This provides a good guideline for salaries payable to IT Consultants.

Dr Sammut is one of the few real IT consultants who can come to the grip and mess left at Mater Dejn by SimonPN! If he is paid 50,000 euros for the whole year we will be better off from the 2.450 million euros that were going to be dished out to some GonziSimonPN acolyte!
