Restructuring en masse at WasteServ

New Designate CEO amongst many new faces at the company

The board of directors at WasteServ - the company responsible for waste management in Malta - has unanimously appointed Tonio Montebello as Designate CEO, the company said in a press statement issued this afternoon.

Montebello will be taking over from Jonathan Scerri, and the company said that there will be a "suitable handover period" to ensure continuity in management.

The appointment is just one of many which WasteServ has made in the past months, with Godwin Agius becoming the company's new Chief Projects Manager and Andrea Brincat, an engineer by profession, also joining the company as the new Chief Operations Officer.

Both posts had been vacated earlier this year.

Furthermore, two new posts have been created at the company.

A new position of Chief Officer Internal Audit has been created 'to ensure better accountability', with the role being filled by Raymond Lanzon.

Additionally, a newly-created role of Chief Corporate Services Officer will be occupied by Patrick Grixti, in a move which WasteServ said aimed "to bring about the much needed separation between the finance function from administrative roles"

This, the company said, will help to apply more focus within both departments.

While expressing their gratitude to the previous management, the company said that it was "highly confident" that the new management structure will prove to be efficient and results-oriented.
