Puzzle mats deemed unsafe for toddlers
The Malta Standards Authority has banned the sale and use of two types of puzzle mats distributed by AN Shun Enterprise Co. Ltd.
These products have been deemed unsafe for toddlers as they contain very small parts which can cause choking or suffocation and which can lead to death.
The products in question are the Wondermat Interlocking foam puzzles and mats, and the Mini Combine Mats.
The Malta Standards Authority has advised economic operators to refrain from placing on the market, selling or giving for free these puzzle mats to consumers. Economic operators found in breach of this advice, by selling or distributing these products, are liable to legal action.
Consumers are being advised to refrain from using these products and these should be returned to the retailer from where they were purchased.
