SmartCity ‘on track’ towards 10.10.10

SmartCity Malta is well on track towards its first major goal: October 10, 2010 (10.10.10) is set to be a landmark date for the multi-million dollar project, as the first office block will be inaugurated and serve as a showcase to the world of what is yet to come.

“Cash and investment never stopped at SmartCity Malta,” says SCM chief executive Fareed Abdurrahman, as he explains that all investors are working hard to see the project through all its phases of development.

With more than 100 workers on site every day, the site at Ricasoli is bustling with activity, with a large part of the underground infrastructure already in place, using innovative technology to conceal all services and making the area cost effective in its maintenance.

“We are working with a policy of the best material, and this is why our certification for works are aimed at the optimum on the market,” Aburrahman told MaltaToday, adding that all from bricks to asphalt, tiling and fittings are of the best quality and durability.

Meanwhile, an aggressive marketing campaign with promotions and tours in different countries to promote Malta and SmartCity is currently underway, with the Ceo commenting that “plenty of interest is already being registered by companies from all over the world.”

SmartCity Malta will serve as a hub for services to North Africa and Europe.
