Government receives 21 land reclamation proposals

The proposals include an underground system, a race track, sports facilities, marina villages, boutique hotels, new green areas, floating villages and business centres.

One of the proposals include the concept of floating villages. These have been the norm in the Netherlands for many years, and they're just starting to gain in popularity in the UK.

The government has received 21 land reclamation proposals, ranging from an Underground to Floating Villages.

The 21 projects were proposed by 17 companies, which are a mixture of local and foreign-based businesses.

Other proposals also include a race track, sports facilities, marina villages, boutique hotels, new green areas, and business centres.

The government said that the projects would be evaluated both on their innovation as well as their environmental, economic and social impacts.

“The government is in no way committed to carry out all the projects and in some circumstances, may ask for more studies to substantiate the proposal. Most of the projects include an energy plan and will not be a burden to the country’s current infrastructure and services,” the government said in a statement.

Some of the projects would include land reclamation on nearby territorial waters.
