FKNK label coalition against spring hunting as ‘anti-democratic’
CEO of hunting lobby urges other minorities to join forces with FKNK.
The CEO of the Federation for Hunting & Conservation Malta (FKNK), Lino Farrugia has called for fellow minority groups in Malta to join forces with the FKNK in its stand against what he described as the 'anti-democratic and abolitionist' act of the coalition against spring hunting (CASH).
"Together with the FKNK, such organisations will thus be in a better position to prevent the coalition, or any other organisation or individual, from ever abolishing the legitimate interest of any organisation that is in a minority position when compared to the rest of the Maltese society," he said in a statement issued this morning.
Farrugia urged every individual Maltese and Gozitan citizen of such minorities' organisations to sign the counter Petition which the FKNK issued this week.
"Whilst democracy demands that the majority should govern, this same majority should always respect and safeguard all minorities' interests," he said.
In the statement, Farrugia urged all interested minority organisations to contact the FKNK immediately.
