Gozo Tourism Association greets clean-up campaign
Gozo Tourism Association greets clean-up campaign, calls for end to illegal dumping in Gozitan countryside.
The Gozo Tourism Association commended the cleaning and upkeep campaign that was recently initiated by the Ministry for Gozo.
The clean-up campaign of valleys and other rural areas in Gozo was welcomed by the Gozo Tourism Association, noting that this will enhance Gozo's holistic tourist product.
"The cleaning completion of Wied l-Ghasri valley, which is one of the most beautiful valleys in Gozo and which is very frequented by local and foreign tourists was an initiative well received by accommodation providers in the area, since illegal dumping of waste has accumulated both in and around the valley along the years," the association said.
GTA also urged the Ministry for Gozo to continue with such initiatives during the winter season, in order to present a more clean and attractive Gozitan countryside to all the walking and rambling tourists that will be visiting the island during the coming spring months.
Moreover, it appealed for an end to the dumping of waste in the Gozitan valleys and countryside, which negatively affects the island's natural beauty which GTA said was proving to be one of the strong unique selling propositions of our distinct destination.
