Victor Apap’s statue damaged again
Police yet to determine whether act was a case of vandalism.
The ceramic monument of Victor Apap, 'sitting' alongside fellow Maltese artists Gemma Portelli and Charles Clews in Bisazza Street, Sliema, was found broken in half this morning.
This is not the first time that Apap's statue has been found broken, with the monument's head having been smashed in June of 2011 and having had an arm broken off accidentally earlier this year. The head of Charles Clews' statue was also smashed in 2011.
The police have yet to establish whether this was a case of vandalism, with CCTV footage yet to be studied.
The monument show three local artists, Gemma Portelli, Charles Clews and Victor Apap sitting around a table seemingly in conversation, whilst a fourth chair is vacant where passers-by can sit down.

Clearly this statue was not made of the right kind of material to use in a public outdoors location like this.
