Wanted for murder, arrested in Malta

A 42 year-old Italian national has been arrested by the Maltese police after he was found in Malta while on the run from Italian justice who sought him for murder.

Gisueppe Lauretta from Novara is wanted by the Italian police for the murder of businessman Ettore Marcoli in Novara last January.

Lauretta was arrested in Malta after he was traced through telephone calls to Italy.

Another five persons have already been arrested in Italy in connection with the murder that hit the headlines last January.

Lauretta is expected to be extradited to Italy in the coming days.
