Italy to evacuate injured civilians from Misurata hospital

Italy has announced this morning that it will be evacuating injured civilians from Misurata via special flights which are expected to start 'shortly'. Some of the injured are to be brought to Malta.

This was announced by Italy's foreign minister after meeting a special envoy from the Benghazi-based Libya Transitional Council.

Frattini said that Italy is now formally recognising the Libyan Transitional Council as the 'only' legitimate representative of the Libyan people.
