PM Gonzi holds official talks in Poland

Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi is holding talks in Warsaw with Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

The meeting comes in anticipation of the Polish Presidency of the European Union that will take over from Hungary on June 1.

Both Prime Ministers are expected to sign bilateral agreements.

During his stay in Poland, Prime Minister Gonzi will call on the speakers of the Polish Senate and Parliament, and will lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

Later, he will call on the Polish president Bornislaw Komorowski at the Chancellory of the President.

Tonight, the Prime Minister will inaugurate Malta’s first embassy in Poland after recently upgrading its diplomatic representation in the country from a Consular one.

Godwin Montanaro has been appointed as Malta’s ambassador to Warsaw.
